Manchester Girl Geeks is a not-for-profit group run by volunteers. We are all girl geeks from different areas of Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics, who dedicate some of their spare time to organise and run events for the group.

Who are we?

  • Sam Bail (PhD Student (computer science) at Manchester University)
  • Katie Steckles (mathematician & maths outreach nerd)
  • Liz Hardwick (media producer, consultant and trainer)
  • Karen Pudner (software developer)
  • Lisa Mather (STEM ambassador)
  • Zoe Breen (producer, media literacy, BBC Learning)
  • Website header design by Angie Chan (graphic designer & illustrator)
  • Manchester Girl Geek Dinner founder & honorary Girl Geek: Gemma Cameron
  • … and a bunch of awesome volunteers and collaborators who help us running events!

Get involved!

We’re always looking for girl geeks who can run workshops, give exciting talks, give us a hand at events, write an interesting blog post, or just help us promoting Manchester Girl Geeks – please do get in touch! We’re a friendly bunch and more than happy to welcome new people!
