Tues
day, October 30, 2012, 6:30pm to 10pm
KRO Bar, 325 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PG
Join Manchester Girl Geeks for one of our regular dinners, with great talks from our invited speakers followed by dinner and socialising.
This time we’re at KRO Bar on Oxford Road (opposite the Student’s Union), and we’ll be ordering our dinner (if you like to stay for food after the talks) between 6.30 and 7pm, with talks starting at 7pm and then food arriving around 8.30pm.

Joining us for dinner is Ashley Kent, scientist and science communicator. Originally from the USA, Ashley has a masters in medical genetics but has always loved explaining science, of all kinds, to people – she especially loves that moment when the science “clicks”!
Ashley will tell us about her experiences both explaining science and working in the science communication community – and of course, she will show us some exciting (and perhaps slightly risqué) science demonstrations.
Also featuring science stand-up comedy from Daisy Connolly! Daisy is a self confessed sci-fi geek who teaches science by day, and turns her hand to stand up, improv and writing in her spare time.
The dinner will be a great chance to hear some interesting speakers as well as meeting Manchester’s girl geeks and making some new friends. If you’ve not been to a Girl Geek Dinner before, now’s a great time to join us as we host our regular dinner event as part of Manchester Science Festival. Boy geeks are also very welcome, as long as they are accompanied by a girl geek.
